Oil Portion
-
5 grams Botanical Extract Complex LSC™
-
5 grams Squalene
-
4 drops German (Blue) Chamomile Essential Oil
-
4 drops Geranium Rose Essential Oil (or blend of choice, see our Pure Essential Oils Directory)
Water Portion
-
36 grams floral water
-
1 grams Sodium Lactate
-
.2 grams Cellulose Gum
-
.1 gram Acacia Gum
-
1 gram Vegetable Glycerin
Optional Ingredients:
Oil Portion: Add the Vegethix™ last, mixing vigorously or using a cappuccino blender (mini blender) or stick blender if you are making a larger amount. You may find that you need to stir it repeatedly, as it likes to settle to the bottom. Be sure to stir it before you mix it with the water portion.
Water Portion: Add acacia gum first, mixing as you add and let it sit for 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. Then add the cellulose gum. You can add them both at the same time if you like, but you do need to let it sit for the allotted time.
When it is ready, mix the oil portion into it. Stir it up and that is all that there is to it!
Optional: If you would like to add a preservative, you can use Optiphen™ at .5 to 1.5%. I haven’t added one myself as this is such a small amount and I am storing it in the fridge to max out on the soothing aspect in the AM.
NOTE: You will need to shake this product well before use as the essential oils settle to the top. If you have a solublizer such as PEG-7 Glycerol Cocoate, you can add that in the same ratio as essential oils, it may solve the problem.
Need a small scale? Check out our Essential Tools directory for special pricing.
Note: These miniscule amounts can be difficult to work with when trying to follow a recipe, especially if you don’t have a .1 gram scale.
1/4 tsp (level) = 4g Vegethix™. You can use that as a guide for the powders. You can use a ml dropper for the liquids if you have them subbing 1ml for 1g. It isn’t exact but should be close enough. I can include a few with your order if you order ingredients for the recipe. (please let me know in the message section of the cart)
