Refined Avocado Oil
One of my personal favourites when I want to give some oomph to a handmade lotion or cream both because it feels good and because it is rich in many vitamins and minerals.
For this reason it is commonly used to boost vitamin and mineral properties of skincare oils, containing vitamins A, B1, B2 Panthothenic acid, Vitamin D, E, protein, lecithin and fatty acids. Easily absorbed.
A stable oil, shelf life is 9 months to over 1 year if stored in cool dark place (refrigerator preferred) Will go cloudy when cold but will return to it’s natural state at room temperature.
TIP: I love to use “real avocados”, both in skincare as a face mask, just mash it up and add what ever you want, great alone as well. Or eat it! Avocado contains the most protein of any fruit and is full of nutrients.
Soapmaking Tidbits: Contains a whopping 2-11% unsaponifiables, often used to superfat soap. Due to it’s many beneficial properties and soothing texture, Avocado Oil is a nice addition in a bar for sensitive skin. Iodine value is 80.

Very emollient and soft, Avocado Oil has an almost undetectable scent. Slightly thicker than many oils. All of these properties make it a popular massage oil (even at 10% with your oil of choice) and as mentioned, a nice addition to skincare products, especially for eczema, dry, aging or irritated skin.
Said to have healing and regenerating qualities, a natural oil to reach for when making a in a Gardener’s or Winter Skin Balm.
