Dead Sea Mineral Salts
The Dead Sea is known for it’s mineral content, containing 32% minerals – other seas hold approximately 3%.
Dead Sea Salt contains a smaller proportion of sodium chloride than other salts. It’s well known heath and skin care benefits are thought to be a result of the higher proportion of magnesium, potassium and calcium chlorides, and a comparatively high concentration of bromides.
These minerals are regulators of cell activity and daily functioning, relieving muscular pain and stabilize fluid levels in the body, working especially well with Epsom Salts and for a nice bath or foot soak when you’ve got sore feet or aching muscles. I also like to push the envelope by adding a bit of MSM to my soaks.
As you can see from the picture above, these salts are very coarse, similar to solar salts. I love them for the look of them just as much as for their practical use.
These salts are very wet so you may want to use them only in bath salts and leave them out of any products that may clump.
Soak and Snooze
As a stand alone bath soak (a rinse is recommended, especially if you have a skin condition)
A rest for half hour to an hour under a warm blanket facilitates benefits of the bath.
I’m all for that, nothing like a warm bath to make me sleepy. Just remember to get out of the bath tub first!
