This is one of those recipes that practically put themselves together. I can’t believe how skin softening it is and how silky it feels. I use this on my face after every shower. It sinks in quickly when used sparingly. Sometimes I slather it on anyway! Great under make-up foundation if your skin is dry. Or gives a healthy glow without foundation.
- 2 tbsp Prime Pressed Golden Cocoa Butter (may substitute for your choice of any cocoa butter)
- 2 tbsp Emu Oil
- 1 tbsp Rice Bran Oil
- 1 tsp Squalene
- Corn Starch to your own taste (to cut grease and thicken slightly)
I just melt the cocoa butter, let cool very slightly, not enough for it to start thickening up. Then I add the rice bran oil and emu oil, then the squalene. Stirring a little at a time as it is added.
Then I stir in the corn starch. If you find that you want to add more, you can gently reheat until it is soft enough to stir some more in.
Note: This makes a very small batch. The double boiler method can be used if you have something small enough to use as a container. A small metal bowl in a small pot will do fine.
Never leave melting oils unattended and as always, boot the kids out of your work area at least until the melting is finished and mixing started.
I don’t know about you, but the minute I step into make something, everyone stampedes the kitchen until I get tired of ducking them and shoo them out, they must think I’m making food or something, geesh :0)
