My new shipment that included a few essential oils for me to play with really inspired me to do some blending, create a few sampler kits and make some soap.
Here are the blends containing a variation of frankincense frereana, spearmint, lavandin, lemon 5 fold, clary sage or white grapefruit.
As you can see, the possibilities are endless, every small tweak can give you something completely different.
Have fun in creating your own blends.

I am looking forward to using these blends as inpiration for some soap this week.
Next week I'll be posting a new recipe and let you know which blend I decided to go with.
Any of these blends have nice possibilities.
I've just received some new essential oils and wanted to give you a heads up.
2 of these oils in particular are born to blend. I just can't wait to get my pipettes on them.
They are a new Clary Sage and a new Frankincense.
Both are slightly different than the ones I had (of course) with some amazing potential for freshening up a nice lemon/citrus blend as a room freshener, deodorant or soap.
A Kick You Know What Lemon Soap
I've been wanting to make one of these since the day I opened (my company name is Sunshine Soap Co, long story as to how my websites ended up with different names, but the name has been calling for a signature lemon soap for a looooong time!)
So I am going to be spending some time in blending land this weekend and barring anything weird coming up.
LIKE BEARS DOING A B&E ON MY VEHICLE
I've been on a roll lately, the latest escapade being a bear smashing in the side passenger window of my jeep with a repair bill of 380.00, the good news being that I yelled at him (from my house window and he sauntered off in the right direction, which was down the driveway) and the saddest being the loss of our family dog Maggie to pancreatitis.
I will have more on that as it was a shock to us and something everyone should know about to protect their pet. The place sure seems empty without her smiling face.
ON MY LIST OF OILS TO BLEND
The main oils that I am looking forward to playing with are our new frankincense, clary sage and 5 fold lemon (I was so happy to get one with better staying power iin soapmaking), and white grapefruit, sandalwood, geranium – I'm not sure whether or not to go with chinese or rose, maybe a blend with both? Basil, lavender (wish I still had some high altitude, it would be perfect), bergamot, patchouli and maybe cinnamon.
Who knows what else?
You can see more about those essential oils.
I'll keep you posted on the new blends next week and maybe even have a rockin lemon soap recipe for you to play with and some links for you to check out the new oils.
I worked on them last night, but wouldn't you know it, managed to lose half of it.
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE?
On the subject, the new cart is coming. I am basically setting up a new site with the new product pages so it's taking more time than I had planned on, but when it's finished, it will be far more functional and have better features than the one we've been using.
I'm really looking forward to it.
Be sure to let me know if there are any features or products that you'd like to see and I'll do my best.
Here's a bit more info on it as well as how you can put up your own site if it's on your list of things to do.
Creating a new website
I've recently begun expanding my morning routine to include a facial steam.
It takes about 10 minutes and really makes me feel clearer for most of the day.
It's also a nice way to relax into the day while at the same time, energizing.
I have been doing it and then doing my exercises – strength training from the Fit Yummy Mummy Program and yoga on alternate days, with interval training on my bike when I can. (if you are interested, check out Fit Yummy Mummy for the best weight loss and fitness program I've found.
try it out for 4.95)
It is making a huge difference in how I feel throughout the day.
As for the facial steam, I have a bowl that I use especially for this, it's stainless steel with a rubber bottom so there is less chance of spillage or breakage.
I add a few drops of what ever essential oil I'm in the mood for – eucalyptus, spearmint or myrtle if I want to be refreshed, frankincense is all around wonderful and today I used some Australian Sandalwood that I have, a lovely way to start the day.
My cat must like it too. I left the bowl to pour into my diffuser when it's cool enough (gotta stretch that Sandalwood!) and he was sitting beside it when I went to the kitchen.
Especially for the stronger essential oils, it's important to let some of the diffuse before sticking your head under the towel over the steaming water so that they don't burn your eyes or nose/throat.
Don't get too close and enjoy.
You can see a selection of my essential oils here.
I think it would be a great idea to put an assortment of 5ml bottles together for this, stay tuned and let me know if you have any preferences for essential oils that you would like to start the day with.
GREAT PRODUCT IDEA
If you sell soaps, this would be a wonderful and easy product addition to your site as well. If you can find some nice headbands it would be even nicer, you could even go whole hog and add a plush towel.
A smaller one for blotting the face after would spell l-u-x-u-r-i-o-u-s, especially nice packaged as a gift for the coming Christmas season.\
If you're in the US, you can get some nice essential oils at a reasonable price at the sites listed on the sidebar, or for an absolutely decadent experience, try Nature's Gift essential oils (I get no kickback for that, I just LOVE Marge's oils).
