Winter’s Retreat Hand Cream Recipe and coupon code
This winter my hands were as dry as they ever have been so I needed something heavy hitting and I think I hit it!
The first ingredient that I knew was a must was my trusty shea butter. It is hands down the best thing that I have found for any dry skin problems, almost miraculous really.
I wanted to keep it quick and easy so I simply used boiling water as the water phase.
After a few run throughs, I managed to create a cream that left my dry hands noticeable softer after the first use and it just kept getting better from there. They were back to normal in no time and my coworkers at the grocery store where I work loved it too.
With winter on it’s way out, this seemed like a fitting send off as I know that plenty of you still suffer from winter’s dry skin.
Let’s nip that in the bud and get ready for spring!
Don’t forget to use coupon code WINTERSRETREAT to receive a 10% discount on Ivory Shea Butter from Ghana, Cocoa Butter and White Beeswax Beads!
WINTER’S RETREAT HAND CREAM
.6oz BTMS (emulsifier)
1.5oz shea butter (the star of the show!)
.2oz white beeswax beads (to give it a little more staying power)
.5oz steam deodorized cocoa butter (to give it a little more staying power)
1.5oz sweet almond oil (use any kind of oil that you like. Sweet Almond is medium weight but absorbs well which helps make this cream so effective and it’s wonderfully emollient which gives it a bit of glide.)
OPTIONAL
I also like to add a pinch of the following to add a little more softness and silky feel…
Rosemary Extract
Silk Powder
Tamarand Seed Extract
Oat Extract
I scented mine with 40 drops of vanilla boosted extract and 60 drops white grapefruit essential oil (but who’s counting!)
It is divine.
You can get essential oils here to create your own scent blend. Here is the link to the White Grapefruit Essential Oil and Madagascar Vanilla Co2.
Have fun, see you shortly on the other side of spring!
