Made from volcanic ash, Fuller's Earth is known for it's ability to soak up oil. It was originally used by Fullers to clean sheep wool before spinning. Also known as Multani Mitti. Best used on oily or acne prone skin, it also helps to stimulate circulation. One of the interesting and unique properties of Fuller's Earth is it's ability to lighten the outer layer of the skin. Excellent in dry shampoos or to remove excess oil from hair. A good ingredient to use in soap for oily skin and acne as well. Very light grey in colour.

Usage: Masks 25 – 75%

Soaps 3 – 5% (1 tbsp per lb)

Handy Tidbit: You can use it at 100% to mop up any spilled oils as well.

Soapmaking Tidbit: Fuller's Earth may mix better into your soap if you mix it with a small bit of water first or add it to your lye water. Clays absorb water, so keep this in mind when calculating the water in your recipe.
