Meyenberg Full Fat Goatmilk Powder has been one of my all time favourite skin care ingredients.

Nothing beats goat milk in skin care, if you can’t access it fresh, this is the next best thing.

It’s ease of use and amazing skin care benefits, as well as the sheer luxury it gives to any product, make it a natural to use in your soaps and bath products.

It is also amazing in lotions and creams, but special care must be taken regarding preservation.

Now for the bad news.

I can’t get it in Canada, and I can’t have it shipped here, so we are out of luck! If anyone knows differently, or has a Canadian source for me to check out of any full fat goat milk powder, I will love you forever!

For those of you lucky enough to have access, anyone in the US, here is some info that you might find interesting. Much to my surprise, you can get it on Amazon!

ABOUT MEYENBERG FULL FAT GOAT MILK POWDER

This is the nicest goat milk powder that I have found in a few years of searching.

It has a nice, mellow scent and a silky feel in the bathtub that I am totally addicted to, anything else just isn’t the same.

Pasteurized, Full fat, Spray Dried.

29.7% milk fat – 27% protein.

Milk powders should be stored in a cool dry location, preferable in airtight containers

Soapmaking Tidbits: If you make soap, you should seriously think about adding a touch of Goat Milk Powder to your batch. Used at 1 – 2 tbs. per kg of soaping oils, you don’t need much to give your soap a more soothing, creamy lather.

My favourite method is to mix it with some soaping oils held back from the recipe and mix it after adding the lye water. If you are making crock pot soap, add it after it has cooked and cooled as much as possible. This helps to avoid a strong ammonia smell and darkening of the soap from the proteins in the milk powder.

This happens if it is added to the lye water or while the soap is too hot. If you do get an odour from it, don’t panic, it will fade with time.

Goat Milk Powder is beautiful in the bath, either in the form of a bath milk, fizzing bath silk or bath bomb – the sky is the limit!

Nothing compares to the Full Fat variety, it retains a gentle, mellow scent that goes wonderfully with vanilla, sandalwood and is even nice unscented (especially with virgin coconut oil or unrefined cocoabutter), a nice treat for those who are sensitive to any scent.

It can be used in soap, lotion and is excellent in bathmilk powders mixed with herbs, salts and a bit of baking soda/citric acid for a nice fizzing effect. Bath products are extremely popular at Christmas Bazaars, Farmers Markets and Craft Shows. Mine flew right off the table, I was totally amazed. They are easy and economical to make too.

But they just aren’t the same withough full fat goat milk powder. Watch for my recipe for Bath Silk coming up.

Many people make lovely creams and goat milk lotions with it as well but special care needs to be taken to ensure proper preservation as it can be prone to spoilage.
